Welcome to Folkridge 2017
And if you’ve never before encountered this most ancient of Cotswold traditions, here’s a brief history:
Folkridge is a biennial festival which has been celebrated in the historic village of Oakridge Lynch since the dawn of time, well 2011 to be precise. It’s a cross-between a mini music festival and a large folk party, with great music, great food, and great company. The activities, food and music on offer are suited to all ages, and the location is sublime, taking place at the 18th century Butchers Arms pub in Oakridge Lynch, halfway between Stroud and Cirencester, surrounded by glorious Cotswold countryside.
Whether your idea of folk music is old songs passed down from generation to generation, frenetic tunes squeezed, scratched or plucked out of peculiar instruments, or mellow toe-tapping folk grooves, we’re sure you will find something to enjoy. It’s a relaxed event, but if you’re feeling energetic there is the opportunity to dance in the ceilidh.
We look forward to seeing you there!
